Ojai Blooms – Sandy Jones

When I was very young, I loved to play dress-up in old party gowns that my mother gave me. Engulfed in these elegant, luxurious dresses, my imagination would engage with the flowing beauty of chiffons, the sensuous feel and exquisite aura of silks and satins. Sometimes I was a princess, dancing at the grand ball wearing blue chiffon with the eye-hook silk buttons that went all the way down the back. Or I became a singer in a musical play, draped with lace and wisps of ribbons. I loved the feel and textures, smooth as ice and the exciting sounds of taffetas and swirling layers to twirl, dance and spin. To my great joy, I know we can still live in this childlike wondrous world of delights, immersed in the textures and feelings of Life’s Divine Mystery and magic. We can rediscover our playful freedom and the timeless grace of our own Soul, the eternal beauty of our Real Identity. We can live this innocence right here in the world where the arrogance of unyielding creeds and political dogmas try to discourage us from finding this divine knowledge of ourself. But in the lightness of this childlike wonder, the power and magnitude of Love becomes tangibly apparent. Our senses come alive again, our imagination unencumbered and set free. Unhindered by the rituals and procedures of control and fear we can happily live our individuality, knowing this life is the Life that God is, Reality is, Isness is. We live this childlike, honest joy, for ourself – and we see our world finding it too

    Hi Sandy,

I love your blog. Thank you.

You have the gift of bringing forth through these fearful adult eyes that happy-spirited child’s view where the tiny bubbles in the glass of water on the writing desk are seen as multi-colored glitter and the little golden-winged beetle resting on the lamp is an angel come to say hello.

Below is a found poem from your above post.

    Engulfed

    In these elegant, luxurious dresses,
    my imagination would engage with
    the flowing beauty of chiffons,
    the sensuous feel and
exquisite aura of silks and satins.

    Sometimes I was a princess,
    dancing at the grand ball
    wearing blue chiffon with
    the eye-hook silk buttons
that went all the way down the back.

Or I became a singer in a musical play,
draped with lace and wisps of ribbons.
I loved the feel and textures,
smooth as ice and the exciting sounds
    of taffetas and swirling layers

    to twirl, dance and spin.
We can rediscover our playful freedom
    and the timeless grace
of our own Soul, the eternal beauty
    of our Real Identity

in the lightness of this childlike wonder.
